Munch & Music is back, and Moontricks kicked the whole thing off. If you don’t know them, the British Columbia duo fuses roots and blues (banjo, harmonica, and soulful vocals) with deep electronic beats, and live that combo absolutely rips. The Summit Health & PacificSource series returned to Drake Park for the first show of the summer, and they brought it: deep grooves and a golden-hour set that had the entire park moving. From the very first song, the energy exchange between the stage and the crowd was straight-up electric.
And the crowd was alive. This is the best kind of Bend evening. A free show on the grass with the Deschutes River right there, food trucks and cold drinks all around, kids up on shoulders, and the amphitheater packed shoulder-to-shoulder with people dancing. When the light went gold and the beat dropped, everybody lost it. That’s the whole magic of Munch & Music, and it’s why it’s been a Central Oregon summer tradition for decades.
